Michiel Schreurs is a junior researcher and PhD candidate at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology in Leuven (Belgium), under the directorship of Prof. Kevin Verstrepen. He obtained his MSc in Cellular and Genetic Engineering from KU Leuven University. For his PhD, Michiel is studying how sensory interactions shape beer flavor, and he is using Machine Learning to predict beer flavor and appreciation from chemical profiles. He applies his research to a case study on improving non-alcoholic beer flavor.
