Julia joined the brewing world seven years ago when she became General Manager of the Brewers of Romania Association and representative of Central East Region in the Brewers of Europe Operational Committee. She has +20 years of experience in advocacy and management consultancy, accumulated in important public institutions and in private consultancy. Before joining the brewing sector, Julia worked as Public Affairs Director for Grayling Bucharest division, a leading communication & consultancy agency, advancing complex public affairs projects in FMCG, financial services, IT, health and energy sector.

From 2018 Julia is lead negotiator, on behalf of the Romanian brewers, in the complex process of setting-up a Deposit Return System for beverage packaging, which was successfully started in November 2023, as the largest integrated DRS system in EU.

Brewers of Romania Association

Beer has an extraordinary story to tell and a Romanian tradition of hundreds of years. That’s why the Brewers of Romania Association wants to offer consumers the experience of a pleasant journey to discover beer culture, in its infinite wealth of aspects.

Founded in 2004, the Association of Romanian Brewers represents a true symbol of the beer sector in the country, with the mission of promoting and developing a responsible and strong beer industry in Romania.

In the 20 years of existence, the Brewers of Romania have established themselves both locally and internationally, as a common voice of its members, managing to convey to the business environment, consumers and state institutions, the values that govern them alike.

Its members are the most important beer producers in Romania: Ursus Breweries, Heineken Romania, Bergenbier SA, and United Romanian Breweries Bereprod, along with microbreweries Berăria Artizanală Sibiu, Clinica de Bere, Scorillo and Zăganu. Together, the eight producers supply over 90% of the amount of beer consumed in Romania. At the same time, the Association includes the beer distributor Martens, along with producers of raw materials: Soufflet Malt Romania and the Association of Hops Producers.

Starting with 2008, Brewers of Romania became part of the large family of European brewers, represented by the Brewers of Europe, founded in 1958, in Brussels. Together with our partners and consumers, we want to responsibly celebrate beer, every day, as the most popular drink of Europe.
