Dr. Michael Féchir currently holds a position as a Tandem-Professor for Beverage Technology at Trier University of Applied Sciences and at Bitburger Brewery Group. Prior, he has been an R&D scientist in the Food Industry and a Faculty Research Assistant in the Fermentation Science lab of Dr. Thomas Shellhammer in the Department of Food Science & Technology at Oregon State University. He holds a PhD in Food Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich, a Master’s degree in Food Economy and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology from Trier University of Applied Sciences. His research primarily focuses on plant-based dairy alternatives and the analytical and sensory characterization of raw materials for brewing and their impact on the beer aroma.
