Sandrine Goeyvaerts, is a Belgian wine merchant, sommelier, journalist, and author. She won the competition for 1st Junior Sommelier of Belgium in 2003. She has also been awarded the Trophée Sourire de Reims (hope of gastronomy), won the trophy for best blog of the year for the RVF’s Men of the Year prize in 2014, and in 2019 she received the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for her book Vigneronnes, published by Nouriturfu. After working in restaurants and supermarkets, she joined the Vins Lacroix cellar in 2010. As a qualified wine merchant and sommelier, one of her key aims is to promote wines that are as natural as possible. Highly involved in defending women’s rights, she also founded and chaired Women do Wine, an association active from 2017 to 2021, working to raise the profile of women in the industry. She has written 6 books about wine, including its sociological and political dimensions.
