PQ’s BRITESORB® beer stabilizers are divided into three categories: silica hydrogels, silica hydrated xerogels and silica xerogels. Hydrogels contain a relatively high content of water (over 60%), hydrated xerogels contain a moderate content of water (around 35%), while xerogels have low water content (typically less than 12%).
BRITESORB® particles have pores of carefully controlled size and huge internal surface area. 10g of BRITESORB® silica gel have a similar area to a football (soccer) field.
