Prof. Fabrizio Bucella, a renowned professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, is all set to deliver a keynote speech at Lille 2024.
Professor Bucella will reflect on the “Beer Paradox,” a topic that is sure to pique the interest of all beer enthusiasts. Despite being one of Europe’s most beloved drinks, beer doesn’t quite enjoy the reputation it deserves. With all its ingredients being produced in Europe, from cereals that are then malted, to hops and yeast, beer has a wide variety of tastes, aromas, and flavours, and yet it is heavily regulated and taxed compared to other alcoholic beverages.
The keynote speech is scheduled to take place on Monday, the 27th of May, during the plenary from 11:30 to 12:30. Prof. Bucella’s talk is expected to shed light on why policy-makers don’t treat beer the way it should be treated, despite its popularity and unique characteristics.
